Wood products we match

Wood factories specialize. A table top plant rarely turns legs and a pallet mill does not finish furniture. We sort your RFQ by product type first, then by species and order size. See all 10 product types.

Furniture components

Chair and table parts, drawer boxes, frames and knock-down kits. Send a drawing per part and the assembly if you have it.

Table tops and countertops

Edge-glued, butcher block, solid slab and veneered tops for tables, kitchens and retail counters. Send size, thickness, species, edge profile and finish for each top.

Turned parts and legs

Table and chair legs, spindles, balusters, handles, knobs and dowels turned on automatic or CNC lathes. Send a drawing with diameters, lengths and the tenon or hardware end.

Panels and veneer

Edge-glued solid panels, veneered plywood and MDF, laminated blanks and sliced veneer cut to size. Send size, thickness, core, face species, face grade and quantity.

Millwork and mouldings

Trim, casing, base, crown, stair parts, window and door components and architectural millwork. Send profile drawings, species or primed finger-jointed stock, lengths and linear feet.

CNC routed parts

Parts cut and drilled on CNC routers from solid wood, plywood or MDF: seat backs, curved rails, store fixtures and nested flat-pack kits. Send DXF or STEP files.

Wood packaging and boxes

Gift boxes, wine boxes, display boxes, trays and retail packaging in solid wood or plywood. Send the inner size, lid type, hardware, logo method and quantity per design.

Pallets and crates

Stringer and block pallets, skids, machinery crates and export cases, treated to ISPM 15. Send load weight, footprint, handling method and destination.

Is your wood RFQ ready to quote?

Wood quotes go wrong when two factories price two different things. Tick what your RFQ already states. You can still send it with gaps and we will ask for the rest.

Why moisture content comes first

Wood keeps moving until it matches the humidity around it. A table top dried to 12 percent and shipped to a heated home in winter will shrink and can crack. Put the target range on the RFQ and ask how the factory measures it.

Wood moisture content for manufactured parts

Solid, edge-glued or veneered?

The same table top can be quoted three ways. Each changes the price, the look and how the part behaves in use. Say which one you want, or ask the factories to quote options.

Solid wide boards

One or two boards across the width. The most natural look and the highest price.

  • Needs wide, clear stock, which is scarce in most species
  • Moves the most with humidity, so fixings must allow it
  • Best for small parts and premium pieces

Edge-glued staves

Narrow strips glued side by side, full length or finger-jointed. The standard for tops and panels.

  • Good yield, so a lower price per square meter
  • Stays flatter than wide solid boards
  • Specify stave width, full stave or finger joint and glue type

Veneer on a core

A thin hardwood face pressed onto plywood, MDF or particleboard.

  • The most stable option for large flat panels
  • Edges need banding or solid lipping
  • Composite cores must meet TSCA Title VI or CARB in the US

Common species and what to expect

Janka hardness is the force needed to press a steel ball halfway into the wood. The numbers below are typical published values. The factory that quotes you confirms what it can supply in your grade. Compare all 16 materials.

SpeciesTypical useJanka (lbf)What to specify
White oakFurniture, flooring, cabinet doors1,360Stable and takes stain well. Quarter sawn costs more and moves less.
Hard mapleButcher block, table tops, turned parts1,450Hard and pale. Blotches with dark stain unless a conditioner is used.
Black walnutPremium furniture, tops, boxes1,010Price moves with board width and sapwood allowed. Ask how much sapwood is fine.
CherryFurniture, cabinet parts950Darkens with light over months. Color match between batches needs a sample.
BeechChair parts, legs, toys, handles1,450Bends and turns well. Moves more with humidity than oak.
RubberwoodTable tops, kitchen items, furniture frames980Plantation grown, usually edge-glued or finger-jointed. Must be treated and kiln dried.
Yellow birchPlywood faces, furniture, dowels1,260Fine even grain. Often used where maple is too costly.
PinePallets, crates, mouldings, painted furniture380 to 870Hardness varies a lot by pine species. Knots are normal unless you pay for clear.

From kiln to container

How it works

One RFQ from you. A short list of wood manufacturers that fit. No bidding platform and no middleman on the order.

  1. Send your RFQ

Upload a drawing, photo or spec sheet. Add species, finish, quantity and when you need it. It takes about three minutes.

  2. We match up to 3 factories

We check your product type, species and order size against what each factory makes. You hear from us within 24 business hours.

  3. Factories quote you directly

Each factory contacts you with a quote and sample terms. You compare and order from the one you choose.

What drives the price of a wood product

Five things decide most wood quotes. If two prices are far apart, one of these is usually different between them, even when the drawing is the same.

  • Species and gradeClear, wide boards in walnut or quarter sawn oak cost several times more than short, knotty boards of the same species.
  • YieldTight rules on color, knots and grain direction mean more waste per usable part. Allowing some color variation lowers the price.
  • DryingKiln drying to a tight moisture range takes time and energy. It is also what stops cracks and gaps later, so do not trade it away.
  • FinishA multi-coat stain and lacquer can cost as much as the machining. Unfinished or single-coat oil is cheapest.
  • Quantity and loadingSetup is paid once per order. A full container spreads it over many pieces and lowers freight per piece.

Questions buyers ask

Something else? Email .

Are you a wood manufacturer?

No. We are a matching service, not a factory. We read your RFQ and send it to up to three wood manufacturers that make your type of product. They quote you and you place the order with them.

Is this service free for buyers?

Yes. You pay nothing to send an RFQ or to receive quotes. Price, terms, samples and delivery are agreed between you and the factory.

Who sees my drawing?

Factories first see a short preview with product type, species, size, quantity and finish. It does not include your name, company or files. Your contact details and files go only to the factories we match, up to 3. If you ask for an NDA, we hold the files until it is signed.

I only have a photo and rough sizes. Can I still send an RFQ?

Yes. Many wood products start from a photo, a sample or a sketch with main dimensions. Add species, finish and quantity if you know them. If something is missing we ask before we match, so factories quote the same thing.

What order sizes do the factories take?

It depends on the product. Some factories make samples and short runs of a few hundred pieces. Others only work in full containers. Tell us your quantity and whether it repeats and we match factories that fit that size.

Can you match factories that meet US or EU rules?

Yes, if you tell us which rules apply. Common ones are TSCA Title VI or CARB Phase 2 for composite panels, FSC chain of custody for certified wood, ISPM 15 for wood packaging and EUDR paperwork for the EU. We only match factories that say they can supply the documents you ask for.
